No. 12 Saints dominate Falcons to move up in the GSC

MONTEVALLO, Ala.- Carley Tepel scored four goals and had an assist to lead No. 12 (IWLCA Division 2 Top 25) Flagler College in their 21-4 win over Gulf South Conference opponent, the University of Montevallo, Saturday afternoon.
 
The Saints advance to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Falcons drop to 3-10 and now sit 0-3 in the GSC.
 
The Saints quickly earned a lead with Tepel scoring the first goal of the game. The Saints end the first half in running clock, leading 11-1.
 
The Saints dominated with a high-powered offense with Sydney Onega and Tristan Usher each earning a hat trick. Twelve different Saints managed to find the back of the net today.
 
Despite falling short, Ellery Shearer scored twice for the Falcons. Falcons goalie MacKenzie Griffin made 11 saves and Ashlei Piazza made 10.
 
The Saints defense performed well with Katelyn Trainor leading with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Greta McGinnis secured five draw controls for the Saints as well. Goalie Lauren Ribadeneira mad a save and collected two ground balls.
 
The Saints next game will be at home, April 13 at 5 p.m., to face The University of Alabama in Huntsville in a GSC matchup.
