That’s why Maclay lacrosse coach Chris Chavez texted his seniors during the day Thursday so he could remind them that the Marauders’ first-round match-up against Pensacola Catholic could be their last game on their home turf. It could also be their last game ever in high school. And Chavez wanted them to have fun. Senior Garritt Schwarz was one that got the message. Then he went out and scored five goals and created four assists, leading Maclay to a 14-4 win over the Crusaders that advanced it to a second-round road game. “It got me thinking and got me motivated,” Schwarz said. “It could have been the last time in a Maclay jersey. But coach also reiterates it in practice too, so we knew going in how big of game it was and to not take any play off.”   Read the rest HERE   Interview With Maclay Players
