No. 5 women’s lacrosse ended their three-game skid on Thursday afternoon in West Palm Beach, Fla., defeating Siena Heights 14-6. Carly Chretien led the Seahawks attack with four goals and two assists. Nine different Keiser players scored in the game with Milena IsturizChloe Foley, and Chretien all scoring multiple goals.

First Quarter
Keiser 3, Siena Heights 1

  • Abbey Cannon found Milena Isturiz for the first goal of the game at the 10:10 mark of the first quarter.
  • Less than 30 seconds later, Isturiz found Carly Chretien wide open in front of the net who tallied her first goal of the game to put KU up 2-0.
  • Siena Heights got on the board with 9:05 left as Jenna Allie scored on the roll.
  • With just over four minutes left in the quarter, Chretien hit a rolling Chloe Foley who gave the Seahawks a 3-1 lead going into the second quarter.

Second Quarter
Keiser 7, Siena Heights 4

  • 90 seconds into the second, Isturiz found a hole in the Saints defense as Cannon fed her the ball for an easy goal.
  • Siena Heights scored on a free-position shot with 11:31 on the clock to cut the lead to 4-2.
  • Even after going down a player due to a yellow card, Cannon and Foley strung together back-to-back goals for KU to take a 6-2 lead.
  • At the 7:23 mark, MacKenzie Gibaud found Chretien on the pass back who beat the keeper to put the Seahawks up 7-2.
  • The Saints ended the half with two free-position goals by Allie and Pringle to cut the lead to 7-4.
Third Quarter

Keiser 11, Siena Heights 4

  • Hayley Frew opened the second-half scoring on a beautiful cut and finish to increase the lead to 8-4.
  • 364 days after she last was on the field, Madison Andrews found the back of the net in her season debut.
  • Peyton Tomlinson took the next possession all on her own, rolling off her defender before beating the keeper high as Keiser continued their scoring run.
  • The ensuing draw control would go to the Seahawks as Chretien would hit the post before Tomlinson collected the lose ball and sent it back to Chretien for the completion of the hat trick with 56 seconds left in the quarter.
Fourth Quarter

Keiser 14, Siena Heights 6

  • Chretien made it five in a row for Keiser early in the fourth with a low shot 20 seconds into the final quarter.
  • With 10 minutes left, the skies opened up and rain poured down.
  • 30 seconds later, the game had to be delayed due to lightning in the area for about 40 minutes.
  • The skies cleared, and play was resumed with Haley Knudsen scoring her first goal since 2022 after missing all of 2023 with an injury.
  • Pringle and Allie were able to get a goal each for the Saints to make it 13-6 still in favor of KU.
  • With 11 seconds left, Krystal Beebe scored a woman-down goal to seal the deal on a 14-6 Keiser win.

Game Notes

  • Keiser improves to 2-3 on the year with the win.
  • The Seahawks are now 4-0 all-time against Siena Heights.
  • Chretien led all players with six points and four goals.
  • Chretien, Cannon, Isturiz, and Tomlinson all registered two assists in the contest.
  • Isturiz was all over the field grabbing groundballs, tallying eight in the game which ranks second-most in program history.
  • She also led the team with a career-high five caused turnovers in the contest.
  • As a team, Keiser was credited with 24 caused turnovers which is tied for the fourth most in program history.
  • Margaret Wroe got the start in net, earning her second win of the season.
