CHICAGO, IL – The Johns Hopkins women’s lacrosse team placed three players on the All-Big Ten Team it was announced today. Senior attacker Shannon Fitzgerald, freshman midfielder Shelby Harrison and freshman defender Jeanne Kachris earned All-Big Ten honors for the Blue Jays.
In addition, senior CeCe Finney was one of seven Sportsmanship Award recipients in the conference. The student-athletes selected for the Sportsmanship Award are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, the student-athletes must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
In just their second season in the Big Ten, the Blue Jays have produced six all-league players. Kachris and Harrison are the first Hopkins freshmen to earn all-conference honors since Haley Schweizer in 2014 (American Lacrosse Conference). Furthermore, Kachris and Harrison are two of the just four freshmen that earned All-Big Ten accolades in 2018.
