District Brackets – Class 1A – Region 2

What a difference a few years makes. This Region is a strange mix of the old and the new. If you went back to 2019 and saw a District final between Bishop Moore and LHP coming down the ‘pike you’d be trying to find a way to attend. That’s likely again today but neither are contenders this year.
Benjamin and St. Edward’s are slated for District 8 and both are hot and cold, with Benjamin being more hot over the season, but both are capable of putting together a heck of a game. Benjamin won the first one at home earlier in the season but after St. Ed’s one-goal road loss to an excellent Creekside team the Bucs can’t sleep on this one.
Then you have the newcomers.
Montverde Academy has quietly put together a nice second half of the season, including an impressive win over Berkeley Prep. They should handle this District just as impressively.
District 7 is fully a Treasure Coast set up with an interesting Holy Trinity Episcopal squad that went 14-2 and undefeated in the District. This is a rare 8-team District so all the teams need to play 3 games and then depth might take a bigger role. HT played a tight game against Cocoa Beach at home, but Cocoa is the 3rd seed and has to get past Melbourne Central Catholic to get a rematch. Holy Trinity is the favorite but this is the type of playoff run that a newcomer needs to learn how to win so don’t be surprised if we see another winner.
Right now it looks like the winner of District 8 has a clear path to Orlando.
