Excerpt: “Fast. Intense. Gritty.” Those are the words head coach John McClain uses to describe the American Heritage-Delray high school team. The 2018 Florida High School Athletics Association champions dominated the field last year, going 21-1 on the season, earning them their first state title. Headlined by ILWomen’s National High School Player of the Year and University of North Carolina commit Caitlyn Wurzburger (2020), the team looks to capture yet another state title in the 2019 season. Just two weeks into their 2019 run, the team remains undefeated and put up impressive scores against IMG Academy and Lake Highland Prep, winning 16-3 and 17-8, respectively. Nationally ranked at number four by IL Women, the American Heritage-Delray Stallions are full of speed, power and passion for the game. “My ultimate goal is to get every single kid that I coach to love the game and develop that love,” McClain says.   Read the rest HERE
