via JU press release   LAKEPOINT, Ga. – After helping Jacksonville University women’s lacrosse defeat Ohio State in the Moe’s Lacrosse Classic last Friday, Ashtyn Hiron and Erica Beal swept the ASUN Conference Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon. Hiron and Beal’s combined efforts led the Dolphins to a thrilling 17-16 overtime victory against the visiting Buckeyes last Friday evening. A senior midfielder from Perth, Western Australia, Hiron led the Dolphins with four goals and two assists. She totaled an astounding 11 draws, scooped up a ground ball, and finished 3-for-3 on free-position shots. On the other end of the field, Beal led the Dolphins’ solid defensive effort to stifle the Buckeyes. The junior defender from Leesburg, Va. caused two turnovers and picked up a pair of ground balls in crucial moments to swing momentum in the Dolphins’ favor during the game.
