
JU Women: Poelma Named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week

LAKEPOINT, Ga. – After a stellar outing in goal for Jacksonville University women’s lacrosse, graduate student Emily Poelma was named ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
The Fairport, N.Y. native recorded a season-high 13 saves last Saturday against No. 15 Notre Dame (Feb. 17), including several point-blank shots, and posted a save percentage of 43.3. Additionally, Poelma leads the ASUN with a goals-against average of 13.00.
Poelma and the rest of the Dolphins return to action Friday, Feb. 23 when they play host to Ohio State to kick off the 2018 Moe’s Lacrosse Classic. Opening draw at D.B. Milne Field is set for 7 p.m.
