Picking Up The Ball 2.0!

In our continuing quest to shame the Sarasota Herald-Tribune into DOING THEIR JOB we have received back the Girls’ Lacrosse Player of the Year results, as voted on by the Girls’ coaches, and it is: Baylee Barker from St. Stephen’s Episcopal School! Baylee has earned All American for the 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons. She also earned the USL-Jackie Pitts award for 2018. She was the Brighthouse Athlete of the Year-Lacrosse for 2017. She has been All District 2014-2018 seasons. She finished her career at SSES with over 250 goals, including 103 from the 2017 season. This year her stats include: 77 goals, 43 assists, 107 draw controls, 14 caused turnovers and 47 ground balls. She was the team MVP for 2018 and attack MVP for 2017. She helped lead SSES to an Elite 8 appearance in this year’s State Championship Series.  She was recruited by multiple programs and will be playing at Rhodes College next year. Of course, this will be news to the local newspaper, which still is trying to learn to spell the name of the fastest growing sport in America . . . The Boys article has been read 736 times at last count.  Maybe the Herald-Tribune would like to share their reader counts on their stories they deemed more worthy of coverage?   Oh, and Baylee, I haven’t seen a Submit Recruit Commitment article from you yet . . .
