Congratulations to Nick on his college choice and good luck in the future!
Saint Andrew’s School
Why did you choose this college?
It has a great up and coming program that I think I can make a difference in. They play in a great league. The academics are phenomenal. I really felt like I had a good connection with the coaching staff. I’m very excited to further my lacrosse career at Colgate.
What are your first memories of the sport?
My first memories of playing lacrosse were when my friend Ethan told me I should come out and try lacrosse. I didn’t want to at first but he said you get to hit people with a stick and you don’t have to go to PE, so naturally my sixth grade mind was all in.
What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future?
Fortunately for me there weren’t any real surprises during my experience. One thing I can say for future players fortunate enough to take part in the process is, enjoy the process. It only happens once and while it can be stressful at times it’s also one of the most thrilling journeys you’ll ever embark on.
Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I’d like to personally thank my parents for devoting their lives to my success as a lacrosse player. If it wasn’t for them I would not be where I am today. I’d also like to thank my coaches in particular Doug Shanahan. I went to coach Shanahan when I just starting to faceoff freshman year. He built me into the player I am today. I’d also like to thank my Sweetlax and Saint Andrew’s coaches. They all played a critical part in my development and success as a player and as a person.
