via Stetson press release   BOX SCORE KENNESAW, Ga.—Stetson’s Riley Reagan and Marina Rotella combined to score 10 goals but it wasn’t enough as the Hatters suffered a 19-12 loss to Kennesaw State on Monday in the ASUN Conference opener for both teams. Rotella registered four goals and Reagan added three more for Stetson (0-3 overall, 0-1 ASUN), but Kennesaw State (2-3, 1-0) took full advantage of a plus-13 differential in shot attempts to get the win. The Owls opened the scoring with a pair of quick goals, but Stetson answered back with consecutive goals from Reagan and Rotella, making it a 2-2 game less than five minutes in. Kennesaw State then ran off four straight scores, and six of the next seven, for an 8-3 lead. The Owls led, 11-6, at halftime. After Kennesaw State pushed its lead to 14-7 at the start of the second half, Stetson mounted a comeback. Two goals by Rotella sandwiched around a score from Camden Frissora, put the Hatters within 14-10 with 7:16 to go. But the Owls scored four of the next five goals, taking an 18-11 lead on Emily Napierala’s score with an even three minutes left, all but sealing the win for KSU. Rotella and Reagan were the only Hatters to score multiple goals. Reagan also led the Hatters with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Jacklyn Lavoie and Madison Edkins each won three draws. Marissa Gore scored six goals for the Owls. The Hatters return to action when they visit Mercer, 11 a.m., Sunday, in Macon, Ga.
