UT: Tampa Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2021 Captains

  via Tampa press release   TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team has announced their team captains for the 2021 season. Seniors Ross DickersonNick Perrot, and Bryan Wright have each earned the honors to lead the Spartans for the 2021 season. Ross Dickerson is a senior hailing from Berlin, Maryland. Dickerson has proven himself to be one of the best face-off men in the country, as he was named the Inside Lacrosse Player of the Year during the 2020 season. Dickerson was also named an All-American during the last two seasons and has earned All-Region honors twice in his career. During his career, he has won 781 face-offs, collected 480 groundballs, scored eight goals, and dished out eight assists. His 480 groundballs rank him first in program history, and his 244 groundballs in 2019 are the most in a single season. Nick Perrot is a senior defender out of Chesapeake, Virginia. Over the past two seasons at UT, Perrot has appeared in 23 games, starting in 21 of them. Throughout his career, he has caused 18 turnovers while picking up 22 groundballs. In 2020, Perrot helped anchor a top Spartan defense that ranked third in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing 5.88 goals per game. He also helped the Spartan defense cause 11.25 turnovers per game, which ranked eighth in the NCAA. Bryan Wright is a senior attackman from Moorestown, New Jersey. Wright has shown to be a force on offense for the Spartans as he ranks fourth all-time in points (158), goals (113), and assists (45). In 2020, Wright was the leading scorer for UT, as he netted 21 goals. He would also pick up 27 groundballs and dished out 10 assists. He would lead a Spartan offense which ranked sixth in the country for scoring offense. His 12 assists were second on the team, as the team would lead the NCAA in assists Tampa will begin their 2021 season as the top-ranked team in the country and their season opener will be on March 19, as they are set to hit the road to Saint Leo.
