via UF press release   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida junior Lindsey Ronbeck was named the BIG EAST Attacker of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the conference office. The award is the first of 2018 for Ronbeck, who was honored as the Attacker of the Week twice last season. Playing in her first game since March 13, Ronbeck returned in style against UConn, scoring a career-high 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting to help the Gators secure a 21-8 victory over the Huskies. The junior’s 10 points tied for the second most in a game in Florida lacrosse history, as Ronbeck became just the second Gator to record a 10-point game.   The Manhassett, N.Y. native tallied eight first-half points (5 goals, 3 assists) while being marked by Preseason All-BIG EAST defender Cassie Ekstrom to help Florida build a 15-4 halftime lead. Ronbeck added her final two points early in the second half to help the Gators win their 25th consecutive game against a BIG EAST opponent. The No. 7 Gators are back in action on Wednesday at noon, hosting the Temple Owls at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
