The Worthington, Ohio native is no stranger to working with children, as she used to work as a youth lacrosse referee. Weinsz was given this opportunity through a nonprofit called Kids Lacrosse the World founded by Elliot Couch. Their mission, “to grow the love of lacrosse at an international grassroots level by building long-term sustainable programs as a means of youth development through empowerment and leadership education”. To commemorate her experience, Weinsz wrote a blog that is now being featured on IWLCAs Behind the Whistle Blog series.
