FIT: Kaitlyn Hardin Named Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech head coach Kelsey Richardson has announced the hiring of Kaitlyn Hardin as assistant coach of the women’s lacrosse program.
 
“I am thrilled to announce the addition of Kaitlyn Hardin to our coaching staff,” said Richardson. “As a player, Kaitlyn has an impressive resume that includes numerous NCAA Division II Finals appearances. That championship pedigree is something that few scholar-athletes get to experience and one we are looking to cultivate here at Florida Tech.
 
“Kaitlyn was an elite player, having earned All-Conference and All-American honors. She aligns with our mission of developing diverse athletes into scholars, champions, and leaders. We are lucky to have her on our team, and I can’t wait for her to begin working with our scholar-athletes!”
 
Hardin comes to Florida Tech after serving as a substitute teacher and varsity girls lacrosse coach at Saint Edwards School in Vero Beach, Fla, since August 2022. As the head coach of the Pirates, Hardin led the girls to a 9-6 record in 2023, having guided the team to the second round of playoffs. She has also worked as the high school head coach of Legacy Club Lacrosse.
 
“I am incredibly excited and grateful to be named the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Florida Tech.” said Hardin. “I believe working alongside Coach Kelsey and combining our competitive playing backgrounds is a winning combination that will take the women’s lacrosse program to new heights. I have no doubt that together, we will be able to create a championship culture that everyone will want to be a part of.”
 
Prior, Hardin was a Life Fit Intern at Charlotte Christian School from January 2022 to May 2022, as well as a Training Intern with Queens Athletics from August 2021 to December 2021.
 
A successful Division II Scholar Athlete, Hardin was a four-year member at Queens University of Charlotte from 2019 to 2022
 
Playing at attack, she appeared in a total of 44 games, starting 24, recording 77 goals, and 40 assists for a total of 114 points. She had a .507 career shooting percentage with 117 shots on goal for a .770 shots on goal percentage, with four game-winning goals, 45 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
 
A 2022 USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, IWLCA All-Region, and SAC First team all-conference honors, Hardin etched herself in the Royals single season record books recording the third most points (100) and goals (66) in a single season. In the classroom, she was a scholar-athlete earning IWLCA Academic Honors from 2020-2022.
 
From 2019-2022, the Royals appeared in three NCAA appearances earning National Runner-up in 2021 while making appearances in the final four in 2019 and 2022.
 
Hardin, a native of Leesburg, Virginia earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Business Administration from Queens University of Charlotte in 2022.
