As always, we at FLN congratulate Kelly on her choice!   Kelly Coughlan, who plays attack for club team Florida Select Lacrosse and is a sophomore at Oxbridge Academy, has verbally committed to the University of Louisville. She wrote to us: “I am thrilled to be committed to the University of Louisville. Everything about U of L feels right to me. Coach Young, her staff and the team have been incredibly welcoming and supportive. It has been my goal since I started playing Lacrosse to play the sport at the highest level. As a top program nationally, with great coaching, facilities and support, Louisville will help me reach my potential as a player and give me the chance to play for a D1 National Championship. I also appreciate the vast academic opportunities U of L offers. Being undecided in terms of a major, the large number of majors available, great Honors College and small class sizes were definitely a draw for me. The emphasis of the University and the lacrosse team on community service is also very appealing to me. I want to thank my family for all of their support and patience throughout the recruiting process. I have been blessed to play for a phenomenal club team, Florida Select Lacrosse, with the best club team coaching staff anywhere. Thanks to Coaches Rob Wurzburger, John McClain and Rich Mullen. I would never have had a chance to be where I am as a lacrosse player without your consistent instruction, support and demand for excellence. My Florida Select Team is a family and thanks to all my sisters on FSL!! Thanks to Holly Seifert, the middle school coach who first put a stick in my hands; Marc Murray, the trainer who continues to unlock my potential; and Sensei’s Dave Coburn and Kelly Page, for supporting my Karate in the midst of a crazy lacrosse schedule. Finally, thanks to my Oxbridge Academy teammates and coaches for being there for me! ”
