Stetson: King Scores Game Winner to Down Saint Francis

DeLand, Fla – Stetson’s Sam King scored the game winner with sixteen seconds left to beat Saint Francis 14-13.
 
In the first quarter, it was back ad forth between the Red Flash and the Hatters. Stetson’s Kaitlin Pani put the Hatters on the board first at the 12:06 mark. Saint Francis would follow up with two goals of their own before Stetson responded with three goals of their own. Samantha Paglino scored two and Pani put in her second of the game to make it 4-2 Stetson. The Red Flash would score one more to make it 4-3 Hatters at the end of one.
 
Stetson had a great defensive effort in the second quarter holding Saint Francis to just one goal, while the offensive put in 4. Sam King scored her first goal at the 14:45 mark of the. Pani and Molly Kearney each added one goal, while Paglino added another as the Hatters took a 8-4 lead into the half.
 
In the third, the Red Flash scored six goals, while the Hatters netted three more to maintain the lead. Aine Williams and Camden Frissora both got into the scoring column with one goal apiece. Paglino scored another as the Hatters maintained the lead 11-10 to close out the quarter.
 
The final quarter saw Paglino once again score giving her a team high of 5 goals on the afternoon. King added the final two goals, with the final being the game winner with sixteen seconds on the clock to give the Hatters a victory.
 
The Hatters will be back at home to face Wagner at 12:00 p.m. on March 22nd, then they will head on the road for their next six games.
