Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Cooper Porter – Palm Beach Atlantic
Sophomore – Attack – Charleston, South Carolina
Porter secures Offensive Player of the Week after leading PBA to a 14-13 win against Embry-Riddle in the season finale. The attackman from Charleston scored seven goals in the victory, breaking the Sailfish program single-game record. Porter’s seven goals came on nine total shots and seven shots on goal for a .778 shot-on-goal percentage. With his performance, PBA closed the season over .500 for the first time and won the most SSC games in program history.
Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Chase Strait – Saint Leo
Senior – Goalkeeper – Apopka, Florida
Strait collects Defensive Player of the Week with his performance in Saint Leo’s 12-9 upset victory over No. 5 Rollins. The Apopka, Florida native tallied 12 saves and allowed nine goals for a .571 save percentage in the win. Strait faced 31 total shots from the Tars during his 60 minutes in goal.
Men’s Lacrosse Specialist of the Week
Michael Flores – Saint Leo
Senior – FOS – Apopka, Florida
Flores grabs his fourth Specialist of the Week nod in 2024 for his efforts at the X in Saint Leo’s 12-9 upset victory over No. 5 Rollins. The senior from Apopka, Florida, won 15-of-21 face-offs against the Tars for a .714 winning percentage. Flores also picked a game-high 10 groundballs for the Lions in the win. This week’s accolade is the 10th of his career, tying him for second-most in Saint Leo history and putting him fourth-most among SSC men’s lacrosse winners.
Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Gracie Colombo – Tampa
Senior – Attack – Waxhaw, North Carolina
Colombo earns Offensive Player of the Week with her performance in Tampa’s regular-season-ending 15-10 win over No. 15 Embry-Riddle. The senior from Waxhaw, North Carolina, piloted the Spartans to a win following a career-high seven goals. She also had an assist and picked up a groundball in the win.
Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Audrey Cannelli – Florida Southern
Freshman – Midfield – Annapolis, Maryland
Cannelli wins Defensive Player of the Week recognition for her performance in Florida Southern’s 22-17 regular-season-ending win at No. 13 Lynn. The Annapolis, Maryland, product tallied game-highs in caused turnovers (4) and groundballs (4) in the road win. Cannelli also won three draw controls for the Moccasins.
