Lauderdale/Miami.    Big contenders to advance out of this bracket include St. Thomas Aquinas, Columbus Catholic, and Barron Collier.  Gulliver Prep is certainly going to be in the conversation as well. In district 25 Cardinal Mooney is the team with the most experience.  They lost the District 15 Championship to a strong Tampa Jesuit team in 2013 and 2012.  They get a big break this season with the new alignment as Jesuit is not even in their bracket.    They won their district in 2011, losing to Apopka in the regionals that year.  They have been knocking at the door for several seasons and the could certainly play a couple of post season games this year. The rest of this district is a mystery.  Out-Of-Door Academy (Sarasota,) Sarasota Military Academy, and St. Stephen’s Epicopal (Bradenton) have been playing FHSAA for two seasons now but have remained independent until this year.  So this will be their first season in district play.  We’ll learn more about these school along with our readers. District 26 was district 16 last year and saw Bishop Verot go 12-0 in district play.  However, they graduated five players who are now playing at the next level.  This  includes three that went to Florida Southern, and we don’t know what they have left.  They also will be transitioning to a new coach.  Fort Meyers was number two in the district last season at 9-3 losing a three goal game in the district final. Canterbury, Cypress Lake, Estero, and Riverdale make up the rest of this district.
