Mike Hauesien and Davis Lindsey’s senior leadership drove the Bolles Bulldogs to victory over Georgia powerhouse program Centennial High School. The Knights of Centennial were fresh off of a win over a strong Creekside team and had won 11 straight games.
Sophomore attackman, Alexander Mostovych, had a great game with two goals and three assists. Seniors Adam Stenson and Austin Richardson played a big role in the win with great effort and solid ground ball work for extra possessions. Sophomore goalie Ben Abrams, Juniors Nick Reinschmidt and JT Alexander lead defense. Abrams had five huge fourth quarter saves which gave Bolles a chance for the win.
The play of the game occurred with Bolles was down one goal in the fourth quarter, no timeouts, and playing a man down. Bolles put Reinschmidt on the top corner and everyone else behind goal and on box side. They had a middie at midline step over on whistle, threw the ball over from a a double team and stuck it for the tying goal at 11. Bolles would go onto score one more and win the game 12-11.
Coach Brian Duncan could not have been happier to see his guys break out and score a big win over a top tier team. “The boys competed with intensity and discipline for quarters 2-4th. Centennial is a very good and well coached team. We just had a good day and we feel great about the first home win…one day before Easter!”
Bolles continues to host Georgia teams this week as they take on South Forsyth tonight (Monday), Alpharetta on Wednesday and next Monday they play North Gwinnett. The Bulldogs have a district game against Mandarin on Friday and Saturday they play Nease.
