Cardinal Newman survived a late rally by Park Vista to improve to 5-0. The Crusaders were lead by seniors Fritz Cushmore (3g, 1a) Ryan Milano (3g, 3a) and Corey Pearson (2g). Freshman Grant Quattlebaum added a goal as well. Newman took a commanding 9-1 lead into the 4th quarter, and were ahead 9-2 with just over 5 minutes to play. The Cobras then put together a flurry of goals behind the strong play of Collin Barch and Joey Augello. Cardinal Newman finally held on for the win when goalie Nic Kramer made a one on one save with 10 seconds to play. Cardinal Newman will look to go 6-0 when they take on South Fork at home Tuesday night. Park Vista will seek their first win against Calvary Christian Monday night at home.
