After the Launch game a video was played on the FAU scoreboard with Casey Powell, the all-time leading point scorer of MLL, made a lengthy announcement that included the declaration “it is highly likely I have played my last MLL game”.  Family members were in attendance and most would accept this as his retirement announcement. Of course, ‘highly likely’ is not 100%, so the door has at least been left ‘slightly ajar’ so we will see what happens next season.     However, if the door remains closed we at FLN congratulate Casey on his terrific career and thank him for the time he has always had available for us at the website and for the way he has handled himself with the local fans.  The announcement of his foundation will certainly keep him busy and we wish him well in whatever direction the future takes him in the sport!
