On Saturday we set our DVR’s to catch the action from the World Championships and headed out to Clearwater for something a little less serious.  The  5th annual Grip It N Rip It tournament at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex. They guys at Shooter’s Lacrosse in Tampa put this event on and it’s always a great time.  This year they added a men’s division which turned out to be very competitive and provided some great action with plenty of past and current NCAA players, All Americans, and National Champions taking the field.  The Men’s division was won by Team 407, a group of Central Florida players that meet on Sunday’s to play pick up lacrosse. Thundering Herd won the U-9 group and the Tampa Tarpons won the U-13 boys division.  Monsters Lacrosse Club took the U-11 group.  Boneheadz won U-15 and the Sand Sharks took both the U-17 and U-19 Championships.  Braveheart dominated the girl’s tournament winning both the Middle School and the High School divisions. Shooters Lacrosse is hosting a Thanksgiving Weekend Beach Lacrosse World Championships November 28th – 30th at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort! More info and register at TampaLacrosse.com.
