Sorry for going a little bit out of order but it will be another day for 15,16,17, 18, 21 and 22 to be completed! See Districts 1 & 2, See Districts 3 & 4, See Districts 5 & 6, see Districts 7 & 8, See Districts 9 & 10, See Districts 11 & 12, See Districts 13 & 14.  See District 19.  See District 20.  See District 23.   District 24   District 24’s story last year was one of competitive balance.  Even though Pine Crest ran the table in conference they barely held on to defeat Stoneman Douglas in the finals 8-7 and fell in the first round of the brackets to Boca Raton.  Coach George Harris, in his first year, immediately left his mark on the team.  Both Stoneman and Cardinal Gibbons posted strong won-loss records and Calvary Christian might also have bested .500 if not for some key injuries early in the season.   Pine Crest finished with s 10-8 record that included an impressive road win over Vero Beach as well as another over University School.  One area of concern on the defensive side of the ball as they struggled to contain the better offenses they played.  Of course, losing stud long pole Michael Diener to Hofstra and two time Patriot League Rookie of the Week Sam Talkow did not help in that regard.

There is some very nice talent coming back.  Young attackmen Noah Dearman and Chris Dunne will start up front.  The midfield returns seniors Zack Smith and Cody Shamon and they will be joined by junior David Tescher.  Senior Patrick Haley returns to man the net and the entire close defense is an experienced senior group with McCoy Berger, Oliver King and Justin Stolzenberg.  Some very nice pieces are in place in the starting lineup but will there be depth?  If so then PC looks like a team to watch for this season.   Stoneman Douglas shook off a slow 1-5 start to win nine straight games before bowing in the district finals.  That strong finish led Coach Ryan Burton to up the ante this year by adding Saint Andrew’s, Jupiter, Gulliver Prep and Ransom Everglades to the schedule.  Stoneman is starting to feed off their own youth programs in the Parkland area and it will be interesting to see if a new front has been opened in the southeast Florida lacrosse wars. Of the early losses were road games at Wellington, University and PC and home tilts against Oxbridge and Spanish River.  In none of those losses was the team blown out so there is reasonable hope for optimism and improvement going into this year.   Stoneman 2015 AJ-Ferraro   The Eagles are led by returning All-American long pole AJ Ferraro, a Navy commit.  Senior Blake Israel (Dominican) also returns.  Senior middies Ryan Brodsky and Devin Vortolomei, juniors Tyler Gaffney on attack, middie Jonathan Cox, long pole Sam Pinson and 2nd team all-district goalie Jason Wyner are counted on to step up.  Coach Burton is also excited by his sophomore class with LSM David Landess, Kyle Gurr, FOGO Kevin Horwitz and Austin Figas all expected to contribute.   Cardinal Gibbons welcomes new head coach Rudy Williams to the helm after Coach Doug Britt put up a very nice 11-4 mark last season.  The strength of schedule was not the best though so the team will need to show last season wasn’t just taking advantage.

CG will need to overcome the loss of 16 seniors so the team will be young and likely to experience some growing pains.  The top returning starters are the brother combination of Trent and Luke Motta and RJ Bretton.   Calvary Christian, as mentioned up top, struggled out of the gate, going 1-5 before righting the ship and finishing 7-9, including a tough one-goal loss in the district matchup with Pine Crest.  Coach Adam Bond lost 15 seniors from the first class that started the program in 2011.  Top of that list is Dawson Allen, a D1 recruit at Mount St. Mary’s.  This year will likely by a transitional one and a .500 season would be an achievement.  The school has decided to fully get behind the program and a middle school team has been established.  Youth programs are also starting this year.   Christian Calvary 2015 Hunter Ramsay   There are 2 high impact returnees coming back in junior long pole Hunter Ramsey and senior middie/faceoff specialist Colton Coffin.  Ramsay is being recruited at the D1 level and earned 2nd teal All Region last year.  Coffin put up a 63% faceoff mark last fall and chips in the occasional goal off the break.  He will be counted on to step up the production for the young squad.   Taravella has struggled every year and unfortunately this looks like another season of that.  Goals were difficult to come by last season and Coach Rob Herzog will need the school to support him further for the program to start to grow.
