Beau Yarborough and Jake Funyak lead the defensive effort for Fleming Island as the Golden Eagles outlasted the much-improved Yellowjackets 6-3 on Friday night. The Golden Eagles lead at the half 3-2, but the Yellowjackets pulled even at 3-3 midway through the 3rd quarter. Fleming Island rolled out three straight goals to put the game away in the 4th. Hayden La Vangie lead the Golden Eagles with 2 goals. Devan Marquis, Conner Dee, Chase Wolfe, and Kevin Beach all added a goal to round out a balanced offensive attack. Josh Gracia and Sam Barrington continued to be very solid on the face-offs by winning 10 out of 13, and Cody Worth (senior) continued a his stellar start to the early season by stopping 14 out of 17 shots on goal. The loss gives the Yellowjackets their first loss.  They are now 2-1 and take on Menendez (1-2) next.  Flemming Island remains undefeated and head to 1-4 Bolles next week.
