Florida Stumbles Against Michigan at Brine National Lacrosse Classic

Florida got off to a slow start against Michigan in the second game of the Brine National Lacrosse Classic, losing by a 5-3 count.  Florida once again scored first as Jonathan Spevacek found the back of the net on a wing dodge.  Michigan came back and scored 3 goals, 2 in unsettled situations, to take a 3-1 lead at the half.
Jonathan Thelan got Florida within one on a dodge from X, followed by a well executed inside roll.  Michigan countered with a goal of their own, followed by stellar goalie play, and a tough man-down defense, holding Florida to 1 of 5 in extra man opportunities.  Julian Taylor recorded the other goal for Florida, which falls to 0-2 in the event.
In other action, the Florida High School Girls are 2-0 follwing 6-4 and 11-6 victories over New England and the West teams, respectively.  The Florida Middle School Girls are off to an 0-2 start, falling to Maryland 12-4 and Pennsylvania 12-3. The Florida Middle School Boys are also 0-2, falling to New England South by a score of 7-1 and Texas 11-3.
Pool play continues on Tuesday for all divisions, with championship games slated for Wednesday morning.
