Jensen Beach Wins District Match Up Over St. Ed’s

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Jensen Beach secured a probable number two seed in one of the toughest districts in the state by beating St. Edwards Friday night to improve their record to 6-3 (3-1 district). Their only district loss is a one goal loss to Vero Beach. The Falcons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st quarter with all three goals coming from Kyle VanWagner. He lead all scorers by adding an assist later in the game. A balanced scoring effort from Jensen Beach included Jared Welsh, Jake Ferguson, Chris Cariello and Liam Walls each tallying 1 goal and 1 assist. Jack Staab, Hunter East, Sam Shaw, Kai Seymour and Colin Walsh also had goals. Austin Brodie made 11 saves and Landon Salie added another 5. Wyatt Weiseman was 15/20 at the face-off X and added two assists on the night. A solid defensive game from Matt Laird, Logan Bach and Jack Staab kept the St. Edwards offense in check. Jensen will play Boca Raton High School at home on Tuesday night at 7:00 at Jensen which will be sure to be a great non-district game.
