Milne Field. “Playing challenging non-conference opponents can only help our team grow and prepare for the rest of the season,” said head coach Mindy McCord. “We feel like we have had some great challenges so far and we will continue building our team concept this Sunday against Stony Brook, a Sweet-16 team.” In their last outing, the Dolphins downed Lehigh 13-7 with reigning player of the week Holly Ventimiglia and Danielle Della Rocca leading the way with a hat trick each. Jacksonville controlled the draw 14-8 and had 22 ground balls. Defensively, Erika Brager, who leads the nation in ground balls per game, grabbed four in the game. “It will be good to compete against another nationally ranked defense,” said coach McCord. “They pride themselves on their defense and we saw firsthand last year just how effective their team defense is.” No. 18 Stony Brook enters the game flying high off a 9-5 victory over No.17/18 Notre Dame on Tuesday evening. The Seawolves currently rank second in the NCAA in scoring defense and rank third in save percentage. “I expect our team to handle the pressure and to play with poise and confidence,” said coach McCord. “The best teams in the country play with a lot of intensity and match the intensity of their opponents. I think we can match their intensity. The next step is executing.” ### Bridgette Gale Athletic Media Relations Assistant Jacksonville University (o):(904)-256-7761 (c): (904)-599-0801
