Keiser: Women’s Lacrosse Set For Inaugural Season Opener

via press release – photo via Keiser web site   The Keiser University Women’s Lacrosse team will begin their inaugural season in exactly 24 hours with a 1 p.m. showdown against No. 8 Ave Maria. Ave Maria enters the weekend as the eighth-ranked squad in the NAIA with a roster of 13 underclassmen and seven upperclassmen. Ave Maria returns its top two goal scorers in Tourville (44g) and Sherman (25g). The Gyrenes finished the 2016 season with a 5-8 overall record and scored 10.77 goals per game during the year. Keiser’s roster consists of 19 players, 16 of which are true freshmen. Four of the Seahawks’ freshmen play other sports at Keiser as Lisa Soehngen and Jessilyn Rojas compete on the women’s soccer team and Lindsey Keegan and Danee Smith both play for the Keiser volleyball team.
