Nease Holds Off the Mustangs to Win 10-8

The cold weather came back to North Florida on Friday March 6th as Nease hosted Mandarin in a heated match up on the field. Nease and Mandarin both came into the game with 6-2 records and the fans for both teams were ready for some great lacrosse action. Nease struck early in the game scoring 4 goals in the first quarter and adding 2 more by the second half. They were able to hold Mandarin to only 2 goals making it a 6-2 game at the half. Mandarin didn’t give up and was able to put 3 goals on the board in the 3rd quarter and hold Nease to 1 bringing the score to within one. Mandarin scored early in the 4th quarter to make tie it up.  Nease scored 3 quick goals and Mandarin was able to hold Mandarin off to win the game 10-8. Leading scorers for the game were Brent Whiting for Nease and Casey Connell for Mandarin. Mandarin moves on to host Fleming Island on Tuesday March 10th at 7pm in a district match up and Nease plays at Bishop Snyder at 6:30pm the same night. Mandarin hosts Fletcher on Friday the 13th for a huge tailgating event called Sticks ‘n Stangs. Gates will open at 6:15pm and every paid admission will receive a free hot dog and chips. 1010XL will be hosting live from the game. It will be a great night of lacrosse and all are welcome to enjoy the festivities.
