Pridemore Wins Florida Dairy Farmer’s Miss Lacrosse POY

Katy Pridemore, Vero Beach High School, has been named the 2014 Florida Dairy Farmer’s Miss Lacrosse Player of the Year.  This is the 2ndconsecutive year Pridemore was awarded the Florida Player of the Year honor and culminates a 3 year stellar career at Vero Beach after moving from Baltimore, MD at the end of her freshman year.  Pridemore, who will attend Liberty University in the fall, has been recognized both state wide and nationally for her accomplishments on and off the lacrosse field.  Some of her awards and honors include:

  • 2 time Florida Dairy Farmer’s Miss Lacrosse – Player of the Year
  • Ranked the #2 Soph. and #3 Junior in the nation by Inside Lacrosse Magazine
  • 2 time Scripps Treasure Coast News Player of the Year
  • 2014 US Lacrosse Magazine South Player of the Year
  • 3 time US Lacrosse 1st team All-American
  • 2 time US Lacrosse Academic All-American
  • 3 time Under Armour Lacrosse Underclass All American team
  • 3 times named ESPN High School Player of the Week
  • 4 times named “Top Performer” in US Lacrosse Magazine
  • CBS Channel 12 Player of the Week
  • Invited to US Lacrosse All-American Showcase
  • Led VBHS to 3 straight State Championships and top 10 national rankings
  • 3 time Vero Beach High School leader in total points and goals scored
  • 2 time MVP – Vero Beach HS
  • 3 time 1st team All-League, All-Region. and All-District
  • Totaled over 340 points in 3 year career at VBHS
  • Leading scorer for TLC Lacrosse Club – Baltimore, MD

The Pridemore family is well known in the lacrosse community.  Older brother Ben, who played for national powerhouse Boys’ Latin School in Baltimore, MD, was a Sr. Under Armour AA as well as a  National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association 1st team AA, and just finished his freshman year playing in the NCAA National Championship game for the University of Notre Dame.  Younger sister Hannah, who also plays for Vero and will follow Katy to Liberty, is one of the top offensive players in the state and has been named to Inside Lacrosse Magazines Top 25 Watch List.  Younger brother Ross, an 8th grader who played this past year at St. Edward’s School in Vero Beach, led the varsity team in goals scored and assists while earning 1st team All-District and 2nd team All-Region.
