SAINT LEO, Fla. – For the second-straight week, Saint Leo men’s lacrosse has been recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, as senior goalkeeper Dave Moore was named the USILA/Lids Team Sports DII National Defensive Player of the Week. Moore recorded 30 saves over two games last week as the Lions went 2-0. In the tough 9-7 grind out win over Colorado Mesa, Moore record 21 saves, just one shy of a school record. Moore also added one ground ball in the win. In the win over Adams State, Moore recorded nine saves, and picked up two ground balls. With the win over Adams State, Moore tied the Saint Leo record for career wins by a keeper with 30. This honor comes following Moore’s first Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. Last week, Jake Gilmour was honored as the National Offensive Player of the Week. Moore is currently nationally-ranked sixth in save percentage at 57.4-percent, and seventh in goals against average at 7.47. The Lions return to action after a week hiatus, opening up Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m. as they host Rollins College.
