From SaintLeoLions.com SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and Saint Leo men’s lacrosse saw senior Will Cothron earn his first ever Specialist of Week award, for games played between Feb. 22-28. In their 17-7 win over Shorter on Saturday, Saint Leo also won 20 of 28 face-offs, led by Cothron, who won 19 of 25. Cothron also picked up a team-high 10 ground balls. Cothron entered the season in third in career ground balls with 228. He now holds sole passion of second place with 251. He trails the leader, Mike Del Buono, by 51. In the 2015 season, Cothron won two SSC Defensive Player of the Week awards. This is the first season the SSC is awarding a Specialist of the Week. Saint Leo returns home for a 1 PM showdown with Pfeiffer on March 5.
