Conor Whipple showed why he is a two-time All-American on his way to Georgetown in the fall in the game against Pine Crest Friday night.  He scored 9 goals and one assist raising his season totals-to-date to 65G/89Pts.  He dodged, evaded. shot in front of the goal, shot from the outside, and came from behind the goal to shoot.  He found a way to score from everywhere in this South Florida rivalry. Sam TalkowPine Crest is missing their star attack Harris Stolzenberg to injury which obviously hurt their game, but Pine Crest played tough in the first quarter with Zack Smith and Sam Talkow (Boston University) scoring 2 goals each to keep the Panthers down by only two 6-4 at the end of the first.  The Panthers just did not have the depth to keep up with St. Andrew’s the rest of the game with the Scots outscoring them 12-3 in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. Despite the fact that Pine Crest’s Sam Talkow controlled the face offs, winning 22 of 30 (73%), as he has done all season long and the goalie Patrick Haley had 12 saves, St. Andrew’s was just able to control the rest of the game. The Scots moved the ball well and really shut the Panthes down after the first quarter on defense as well.  Other big scorers for the Scots were Grant “Taco” Mahler (Cornell) with 6 assists, Steve Reall (St. John’s) with 2 goals and 3 assists, and Andy Wheeler (Rutgers) with 2 goals and an assist.
