Sickles Continues To Win With 8-2 Victory Over Freedom

The Gryphons of Sickles High School hosted the Freedom Patriots on Wednesday February 17th. It was the first District 16 game for each of the teams. The Gryphons came into the game with a perfect 3-0 record while the Patriots were 1-1.
The game was tight in the first half and featured many turnovers for both teams, but Sickles outscored Freedom 2-1. In the second half, Sickles offense stepped up as Josh Hatter, Junior Attack, scored 3 in the 4th to help seal the victory 8-2 and remain undefeated. Player of the game honors go to Alex Aldazabal (So.) who stopped 13 of 15 shots on goal in his first full game this season.
Next up for Sickles (4-0, 1-0) is another District game at Wharton (1-1, 0-0) on Friday February 19, while Freedom (1-2, 0-1) hosts Jefferson (0-3, 0-1) in a non-conference game.
