Trinity Catholic survived a 4th Quarter Rally by Eastside High School to improve to 1-1 at home Wednesday night. I what was mostly a defensive battle, Trinity took the lead late in the 1st Quarter on a goal by Andrew Webber, assisted by Eli Baes. Eastside trailed until late in the 2nd Quarter, when Thomas Tang capitalized on an assist from Het Patel to tie the game at 1 each. With 21 seconds left in the 1st half, Trinity’s Sam Fisher connected with Chris Demovich to pull ahead 2-1. Trinity gained some space early in the 3rd Quarter on an unassisted goal by Eli Baes, going up 3-1. Eastside was held scoreless through the rest of the 3rd Quarter, but rallied behind Terrell Quarterman who provided 3 unassisted Goals over the 4th Quarter, putting Eastside ahead with 8:05 remaining. The Celtics never surrendered, however, and Anthony Weber put up two more unassisted goals to tie and then go ahead with 3:21 left in the game. Late penalties proved to be a hindrance, and Eastside was unable to recover. Both squads put up valiant efforts, with one “Hat-Trick” for each team. Trinity improves to 1-1 and faces Oak Hall School in Gainesville on February 23rd at 7 p.m. Eastside falls to 0-2, and faces Lake Minneola on February 19 at 6 p.m.
