via press release   Men’s Lacrosse   Conor Whipple / University of Tampa / Jr. / Attack / Tampa, Fla.   SSC Award Conor Whipple   For the third time this season, Whipple is awarded SSC Offensive Player of the Week. The Tampa native broke Tampa’s single game record for single game points during a 22-7 win over Florida Southern College. Whipple scored five goals and assisted seven others for a total of 12 points. The previous program record of 11 was set by Whipple during his freshman season against Florida Tech. For the season, Whipple leads the conference in both assists per game (3.3) and points per game (6.9). Tampa owns an overall record of 9-1 and are 2-0 in SSC play.   Pat Brothers / Lynn University / Gr. / Goalkeeper / Burlington, Mass.   Pat Brothers Lynn 2016   Brothers takes his second consecutive SSC Defensive Player of the Week honor with a top performance on the road against a Top-25 ranked opponent. Brothers tallied 14 saves and two groundballs in the Fighting Knights’ 14-7 victory against No. 15/20 Rollins. The Burlington, Massachusetts recorded a .667 save percentage while facing 34 shots. Lynn is now 8-3 on the year, 1-1 in SSC play.   Christopher Lasprogata / Lynn University / So. / Midfielder / Ardmore, Pa.   Chris Lasprogata Lynn 2016   Lasprogata is named SSC Specialist of the Week following 17 faceoff wins at No. 15/20 Rollins. Lasprogata won 85% of faceoffs against the Tars and secured a career high 11 groundballs. With the 14-7 victory, the Fighting Knights are 8-3 overall, 1-1 in SSC play.   Women’s Lacrosse   Meghan O’Brien / Florida Southern College / So. /  Attacker / Rochester, N.Y.   Meghan O'Brien Florida Southern 2016   O’Brien is this week’s SSC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a total of seven goals and recording three assists for 10 total points across two Florida Southern wins. The Rochester, New York. native began the week with a career high five goals on seven shots and recorded an assist in the Moccasins 10-9 overtime win against No. 3 Lindenwood. She was a perfect 1-for-1 on free position shots as her fifth goal on the game solidified the FSC victory. The sophomore added two more goals on two shots, with two assists and one draw control in Florida Southern’s opening SSC match against Tampa, 18-7. Florida Southern is now 9-3 overall and 1-0 in SSC play.   Gabby Barowski / Florida Southern College / Sr. / Defender / Alexandria, Va.   Gabby Barowski 2016   Barowski repeats as SSC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Moccasins to two victories. In Florida Southern’s 10-9 overtime victory over No. 3 Lindenwood, Barowski caused three turnovers, picking up six ground balls and held Lindenwood’s leading scorer, Constance to one goal on the game. While Barowski was assigned to Constance she did not score. Against Tampa, Barowski lead the Moccasin defense in holding the Spartans to just seven goals in the 18-7 FSC victory. The Alexandria, Virginia native added a goal on one shot in the conference win. Florida Southern is now 9-3 overall and 1-0 in SSC play.
