ORLANDO, Fla. (September 04, 2013) – Head Coach James Foote announced Wednesday that the UCF Men’s Lacrosse team will host the program’s first annual Recruit Weekend from Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27 on the campus of the University of Central Florida. The goal of the weekend is to give 2014 and 2015 high school graduates a glimpse of the experience had when attending a large university and playing for a top tier MCLA lacrosse program. Over the course of the weekend, recruits will be given a tour of the UCF campus, observe a UCF Men’s Lacrosse practice, attend a UCF home football game against the University of Connecticut, and wrap up the weekend with the Knights Men’s Lacrosse team taking on St. Leo University (NCAA D-II) in a fall scrimmage. “We are very excited to announce our first annual Recruit Weekend here at UCF,” said Head Coach James Foote. “We look forward to giving our recruits from across the country the opportunity to see what UCF and MCLA lacrosse is all about. In 2012, the University of Central Florida was ranked second in the nation in terms of total undergraduate enrollment by U.S. News & World Report. “Many people have great misconceptions about our university and the MCLA,” said Foote. “As the second-largest university in the U.S., the University of Central Florida has so much to offer to its student body. Additionally, the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association is the largest governing body of non-varsity lacrosse programs in the nation. This is not your father’s ‘club lacrosse.'” The UCF Men’s Lacrosse program finished the 2013 regular season with a record of 9 wins and 3 losses, good enough for a share of the SELC Southeast Division title. High school juniors and seniors that are interested in attending the University of Central Florida are urged to register for the event on KnightsLax.com.
