TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s lacrosse won their home opener against Young Harris College and improve to 2-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half
- Young Harris opened the game with back to back goals to take an early lead 2-0.
- Amanda Rom was assisted by Shannon Sweeney at 20:32 to shrink Young Harris’ lead to one.
- Amanda Voges fired back to back goals to take the lead 3-2 over Young Harris.
- Claire Swanson was assisted by Rachel Crawford to make it 4-2 with 11:11 on the clock.
- Maggie Gladden was assisted by Rom at 10:26 to increase the lead to 5-2.
- Tampa jumped to 6-2 with a goal from Rom, assisted by Sweeney.
- Voges reached her 100th career goal with an assist from Gladden. Voges is the first Spartan to reach this milestone.
- To make the score 8-2, Voges was assisted by Sweeney with 1:50 left in the half.
- Crawford from Rom made it 9-2 to end the first half.
- Natalie Carraway tacked on the 10th goal of the game for the Spartans to open the second half at 27:54.
- 30 seconds later Allie Popelar was assisted by Crawford to make to score 11-2 over Young Harris.
- Cali Edgar increased the deficit to 12-2 over the Mountain Lions with an assist Sweeney.
- Paige Johnson made it 13-2 with 18:23 left on the clock.
- Edgar and Sweeney teamed up again to set the score to 14-2.
- With 8:28 on the clock, Voges scored her third goal of the game with an assist from Popelar, now 15-2.
- Young Harris scored their third goal of the game with 4:44 left in the half.
- Tampa scored their final goal of the game from Mallary Weinsz ending the game with a score of 16-3.
- Voges had five goals and three ground balls.
- Emily Stevenson had three ground balls.
- Rom scored four points, two goals and two assists.
- Sweeney had four assists.
- Johnson had one goal and one ground ball.
- Swanson had one goal and three draw controls.
- Crawford had three assists and one goal.
- Popelar had one goal and one assist.
- Edgar had one goal and three ground balls.
- Mackenzie Hackett had three saves in goal.
- Senior Amanda Voges reached 100 career goals this game, now totaling 101 goals. The Bayshore, N.Y. native is the first Spartan in program history to reach this milestone.
