
UT Women: Spartans Set For Busy Spring Break

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s lacrosse team will be busy this week as they are set to host two teams between Monday and Saturday. On Monday, UT will welcome Tusculum College for an afternoon contest. On Thursday, Saint Anselm comes to town for a 1 p.m. start.
Date/Time: Monday, March 6th at 1 p.m.
Location: Naimoli Field | Tampa, Fla.
About the Spartans: After going on a three-game win streak, Tampa has improved to a 3-2 record thus far. The Spartans finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 5-10 and made it to the Sunshine State Conference tournament for the first time in program history. Going into the 2017 season, they return their top three offensive weapons, Voges, Carraway, and Rom. Voges was also a 2016 Second-Team All-SSC selection. Nine freshmen join the Spartans this year. Combined, Claire Swanson, Maggie Gladden, and Carly Vaccaro have 20 of the Spartan’s total 65 goals on the season.
About the Pioneers: Tusculum College comes to Tampa with a 3-2 record, 1-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. The team is led offensively by Junior Savannah Elliot with 20 goals and Junior Madison Malone with 22 assists. The team is led defensively by Christen Craig with seven caused turnovers.

About the Hawks: Saint Anselm College comes to Tampa with a record of 0-1 and a match-up with Young Harris on Monday, March 6th before facing the Spartans. They are currently led by two juniors offensively, Emma Palumbo with three goals and Meghan Shelby with four points, two goals, and two assists. Returning in goal for the Hawks is the junior, Zoie Cavotta who tallied eight saves against Florida Tech.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
