TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s lacrosse defeated the University of Montevallo, now on a three-game win streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half
- Freshman Maggie Gladden started the scoring for the Spartans at 27:50, assisted by Rachel Crawford.
- Amanda Rom from Natalie Carraway came in at 25:23 to make Tampa’s lead 2-0.
- Carraway earned the assist again with a goal from Gladden.
- Gladden scored her third goal of the game at 22:11, Tampa now leading 4-0.
- Shannon Sweeney padded the score to 5-0 with an assist from Rachel Crawford.
- Senior Amanda Voges with Crawford tacked on another one at 17:23.
- 14:04 marked a goal from Carly Vaccaro with an assist from Mallary Weinsz, now 7-0 over Montevallo.
- Crawford was assisted by Rom with 12:13 left on the clock.
- Voges scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Rom.
- Sweeney scored her first goal of the game, assisted by Carraway to start the running clock with Tampa leading 10-0.
- The final goal of the half came from Voges with an assist from Carraway, her third of the half. The Spartans ended the half leading the Falcons 11-0.
- Rom opened the half with a goal at 26:01 to cushion the Tampa lead 12-0.
- Twelve minutes later, she struck again.
- Freshman Claire Swanson was assisted by Gladden to make the score 14-0, with 12:14 left in the half.
- Weinsz scored her first goal of the game with 3:41 left in the half. To make it 15-0
- Montevallo scored with less than a minute left in play, to make the final score 15-1.
- Gladden tallied three goals, one assist, and two groundballs.
- Voges had three goals and one draw control.
- Rom had three goals, one assist, and one ground ball.
- Vaccaro scored one goal and had one ground ball.
- Swanson had one goal, draw control and ground ball.
- Sweeney tallied two goals, two ground balls, and one draw control.
- Carraway led the team in assists today with five.
- Crawford scored four points, one goal and three assists.
- Weinsz scored two points, one goal and one assist.
- Allie Popelar, Paige Johnson, and Abby Coccagna had two draw controls each.
- Goalie Mackenzie Hackett had three saves and three ground balls.
- Today’s victory marks the first time in program history that Tampa has a record above .500.
- Tampa scored fourteen unanswered goals.
