Vero Beach Tops Bishop Moore 11-4

Vero answered each Bishop Moore point to go 3-3 with time running out in the first half.  Vero Beach scored just before the half to take the lead for the first time 4-3 in a hard fought battle. The Fighting Indians  hit the ground running in the second half by scoring seven consecutive goals. The Vero Beach defense dominated the second half allowing just one Bishop Moore point in the second half.   They pushed their lead to a final 11-4 victory over a strong BMC squad. Dylan Cannon and Gunnar Flinchum scored three goals a piece along with an assist and two ground balls for Flinchum. Treyson Peirce and Spencer Sinclair contributed with 4 ground balls and 6 ground balls respectively. Colton Peirce, Trey Tench, Winton Roschach, Tyler Martin, and Cole O’Brien all chipped in a goal each. O’Brien and seniors Austen Zugelter and Colton Peirce each had an unselfish assist. Senior goalies Aryeh Pollack and Jeff Ley combined for 5 saves, four and one respectively. Vero Beach’s defensive team of Treyson Peirce, Max Muller, Derek Stanley and Spenser Sinclair and goalies Jeff Ley and Aryeh Pollack held Bishop Moore in check. Vero Beach(4-0) heads south Tuesday to play Dwyer(3-2.) Bishop Moore (4-2) hosts Edgewater (3-4.)
