The Wellington Wolverines won the District 22 Championship tonight by shutting down American Heritage 10-3 and claim their 3rd consecutive District Championship. Senior Captain and attackman Jason D’Aoust (Saint Leo) led all scorers with 5 goals and 1 assist achieving a first half hat trick. Senior defender Chris Englert assisted D’Aoust 3 times with pin-point passes with the long pole. Freshman Middie Michael Costello won the lion’s share of face-offs allowing the Wolverines to control the ball and the pace of the game. The Moye brothers were a big story for Wellington as Senior middie Alan Moye put up 4 goals with one assist and Junior defender Chad Moye has 10 forced turnovers.   Thomas Oporto finished off his solid season with a three goal effort for Heritage. Wellington will now face Oxbridge who defeated The Kings Academy 17-7 for the District 21 Championship. The Wellington Girl’s team also won their District Championship by defeating Park Vista 13-12 for a Wellington District Championship sweep.
