Chowan’s Anthony Alfonso (Port Charlotte High) Named Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

  LINK HIGH POINT, N.C. – Chowan University midfield Anthony Alfonso has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 26 – Apr. 1, the Conference announced today.

Alfonso, a senior from Port Charlotte, Fla., paced Chowan to a pair of wins last week with 14 points (11g, 3a), three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Alfonso’s week began with nine points on six goals and three assists to go along with three ground balls and one caused turnover in a 16-8 victory over Montevallo. He would then find the back of the net five times with one caused turnover in the Hawks’ 16-9 conference win over Lees-McRae.

Alfonso currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in both points (52) and assists (18), while ranking second in goals (34). He also ranks fourth in ground balls (47) and seventh in caused turnovers (12).
